Ik ben Ali Al-Jaberi. Een fascinatie voor ideeën die werken en inspireren is de rode draad in mijn carrière. Na een afgebroken PhD en via een journalistieke cariere leid ik nu (internationale) topconferenties over de grote vragen van onze tijd.
Van de academie naar het front
Vlak na mijn opleiding Politicologie (cum laude) doceerde ik Internationale Betrekkingen aan de UvA en werd ik aangesteld als Lecturer International Public Management aan de Haagse Hogeschool. Maar ik verruilde mijn promotietrack voor wat een wereldwijde journalistieke carrière zou worden. Van Hilversum tot Quito en Brussel, waren de highlights: TV-correspondent voor Associated Press (Europa), oorlogsverslaggever voor Trouw (Syrië), actualiteitenredacteur voor NPO Radio 1, consulatnt voor Al Jazeera en TV-nieuwsredacteur in Latijns-Amerika.
